About The Consultant
Mark Brandt is a Certified Franchise Consultant (CFC) and member of the International Franchise Professionals Group (IFPG). If there are two words to describe Mark they are “Passionate” and “Entrepreneur”. He went to college for broadcast journalism aspiring to be a sportscaster; however, after his freshman year he began his entrepreneurial career doing the same thing that got so many other successful entrepreneurs like Travis Kalanick (founder of Uber) and Zig Ziglar (self-help guru) started – selling kitchenware house to house.
After personally selling hundreds of thousands of dollars-worth of kitchenware and earning multiple Top 15 national rankings, he decided to take “The LEAP” and fund and run his own territory. He graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Business Administration from The University of South Carolina and invested over $100K of his own capital into running the North Charlotte territory and eventually Upstate, South Carolina of Cutco Cutlery.
Mark developed championship territories, top 50 national performers, champion managers, one company Hall of Famer and one of the region’s top call centers. He was responsible for over $2 million worth of business and from there he developed a separate kitchenware business from scratch having his own line of cookware selling US-made kitchenware. After his experience in B2C, he joined an angel funded start-up and helped build its B2B division from the ground up into its top division of a company recently valued at over $180 million. After 3.5 years of grinding in that start-up world, he then made the transition into the corporate world working for a subsidiary of Alarm.com and traveling the country selling a highly complex enterprise automation IoT and hardware system for property managers/REITs.
Eventually, Mark had enough of corporate America and working for others and knew entrepreneurship was where he belonged and what better way than to have a business introducing individuals to the same opportunity that he is so passionate about: “The American Dream”. He utilizes his experience in a franchise-modeled business, the start-up world, as well as understanding what it’s like to run the corporate treadmill to help individuals overcome their fears and navigate the path to find the right fit in business ownership.
